We all have witnessed the fast growth of mobile internet applications and their impact to our daily life. The development of the ICT industry continues to move quickly. We are seeing new dynamics in IoT and AI, such as smart home, smart car, e-health and robotics. Very likely these developments will create a new paradigm shift and lead to another industry revolution and change our life into a new era. AI and IoT technology will be widespread. There will be plenty of opportunities for Taiwan’s industry and academia to develop and take on. In this talk, I will attempt to explore several topics/directions that Taiwan can leverage and explore.
Lee-Feng Chien is Managing Director and Engineering Site Director for Google Taiwan. He leads the operation and development of Google's engineering effort in Taiwan, and is an engineering lead of ChromeOS Product Area for APAC. He is also known for his work on Chinese search and language processing, and has researched Chinese parsing systems, language models, dictation machines, and search engineering technology for many years.
Prior to Google, he was research fellow and deputy director of the Institute of information Science, Academia Sinica, Taiwan, and also jointly appointed as a professor of the Information Management Department of National Taiwan University. He received his Ph.D. in CS&IE from National Taiwan University in 1991.
